Est. 1887 · Working Farm Stay
Stay where things
still grow.
Forty acres of working pasture, heritage orchards, and stone cottages — where mornings begin with roosters and end with fireflies.
Walls that remember every winter.
Three stone cottages, each sleeping two to six. The walls are original fieldstone, the quilts were stitched by the owner's grandmother, and the only screen is the one door to the porch. Breakfast ingredients are waiting in the kitchen. The rest is yours.
Forty acres of honest work.
Heritage apple and pear varieties planted in the 1920s. In September we press cider together — guests run the hand press while the barn fills with that particular smell you can't find anywhere else. In spring, the blossoms. In October, the last pressing. Every season has its ritual.
Breakfast takes an hour here.
Eggs gathered before the dew lifts. Bread from the wood-fired oven. Herbs cut from the garden while the coffee brews. Guests eat together at the long table on the porch, or alone with the birdsong. There's no buffet, no check-in time, no rush.
Stars and cedar and hot water.
The outdoor bath behind the woodshed is filled each evening. Cedar walls, a cast-iron tub, and the meadow beyond the fence where the fireflies come out around 9 PM. Book it for an hour. Stay longer. Nobody is counting.
More than a bed.
A whole world.
Every stay includes full access to the working farm, the heritage orchard, the barn workshop, and the outdoor bath.

They came for a weekend.
They stayed in their hearts.
"We arrived strangers to silence. By the second morning, our kids were up before us — already at the chicken coop. That's never happened."
"We've done the inn circuit. Homestead is the first place that felt like we were guests in someone's actual life — and that's the highest compliment."
"I came for a writing week. I wrote more in five days here than in the previous three months. Something about splitting wood in the mornings clears the mind completely."

The gate is open
The lavender is in bloom.
Is your weekend?
Three cottages. Limited weekends. The kind of place people return to every season — so spaces fill early.
